Amplitude went public this week 💯 But a little-known fact about them - they pivoted early in their journey. The founders went as far as to offer investors a chance to take their money back since that wasn’t the idea they initially funded 😱 Thank the SaaS gods for Paul Graham’s intervention below👇🏻
PLG PLG everywhere 🌎 Here’s the tech stack Ramp used to blitz scale. We couldn’t help but notice the overwhelming presence of PLG tools across the board - Retool, Slack, Segment, Dbt, Figma, Twilio, Zapier… the list goes on!
M&A playbooks will be at the heart of mammoth PLG companies 🚀 Just look at Salesforce. They may not have the sexiest product out there, but boy do they know how to acquire and scale companies! NYSE:CRM acquired Demandware, Mulesoft, Tableau between 2-5 years ago, and the businesses are growing faster today (on a larger revenue base) than when they were acquired! 🤯
Absolutely best in class M&A @salesforce! With the influx of 💰💰💰 for all of these private 🦄, the ones who start early & build a M&A playbook will be well set up to dominate in the future. Challenge is trying to find the founders before they are offered VC money!And what better way to prove the value of M&A playbooks in PLG businesses than a deep dive into Atlassian 🔱
