The Growth Manager Workspace 🏢
The growth resources that helped us ramp up Toplyne from zero to working with Canva, Gather town, InVideo, and others in less than six months!
👋🏻 Hey, Ruchin here! We’re interrupting our regular Tuesday programming with a growth story that’s closer to home. 🏡
Our Growth team (yes! the one that writes this newsletter) operates on an OS/CRM called the Growth Manager Workspace. And today we’ve decided to open-source this internal tool on ProductHunt!
As of when this mail is racing through fiber optic cables to your inbox, we’re the #5 Product of the Day on Product Hunt. Do check out our project and get free access to the workspace on the ProductHunt page below 👇🏻
Why we’re doing this?
Well, contrary to popular belief... the world is NOT a Zero-Sum game! The more of us who experiment, the better the world of technology would be for everyone ❤️
Just about 6 months ago, I found myself tasked with leading “Growth” for our newly minted SaaS startup - Toplyne. Diving in headfirst with my utterly inadequate experience as a VC and management consultant... I felt comically clueless and inexperienced. The next few months were both challenging and exciting. Like any other early growth team, we tried anything and everything - content marketing, easy-to-use templates, skyscraper SEO, building in public... hoping desperately that something would stick.
Growth teams operate like a standup comedian pressure testing new material at a comedy club. Out of twenty bits, fifteen may fall flat, but you will hear the five that work on the next tour and one or two may even make it to the Netflix special.
At a young company such as Toplyne with a relatively small growth team, tracking ongoing experiments, their many iterations, and outcomes can sometimes look like the Pepe Silvia meme brought to life.
We were all Charlie in this meme until not long ago (Who are we kidding… we still are 🙈). But we knew this wasn't sustainable.
Our data was scattered across spreadsheets, notion pages, and email chains. We had to bring it all together. We built the growth workspace to act as a second brain to templatize past, ongoing, and planned experiments to help us with execution and measurement. Today, everything growth at Toplyne resides in this one space.
We're always less than five clicks away from tracking what we have on the stove today, how a campaign from three months ago performed, and which ones are making it to our 'Netflix special'.
Having organization taken off of our plates has been a game-changer, and one that we think can bring similar value to other teams such as ours.
And that's why we're sharing it with you. You can get this workspace along with a list of ~100 ready-to-use tried and tested growth strategies for free from our ProductHunt page. We’d really appreciate it if you could check us out and leave your comments on the ProductHunt thread 😊
We’ll be back tomorrow with another Growth Story. Which PLG company are we covering this time? Well, its the tool that runs our website 😉
